The International Organization for Standardization, or ISO is an international organization that develops and publishes standard operating procedures which help to ensure quality control. The ISO offers standardization for both the private and public sector, and is not affiliated with the government of any one nation. Meeting Iso certification requirements is a huge step towards allowing companies to compete confidently in todays global economic community.
There are various types of ISO training certifications. ISO 14001 certification has to do with setting the criteria for environmental management. As of 2010, at least 223, 149 organizations in 159 different countries were using ISO 14001 certification. The use of Iso 14001 certification can give companies a more competitive advantage than companies who do not incorporate such standards.
Most states and businesses require anyone who handles food as part of his or her job to complete food safety certification. Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point or HACCP certification training is in place to make sure that people who handle food use the safest and most effective methods. HACCP procedures are followed by the Food and Drug Administration. HACCP auditors must be certified, and can conduct inspections and ensure that protocol is being followed.
